Our Mission

To be an inspiring and encouraging orchestra for the Mid-Cities community where musicians of all ages and stages can learn and grow, and work to inspire the community-at-large.

To bring the community together through the joys of music making and good performances.

Our Story

Symphony HEB was founded in 2019 by musicians who wanted to create a different kind of home for music-making in the Mid-Cities: one open to anyone with a love of playing, regardless of formal training or degree. We wanted to make sure that a passion for music, not a credential, was what mattered most for joining an orchestra.

That founding spirit still shapes who we are today. Whether you picked up an instrument in elementary school and never stopped, returned to music after years away, or are still building your skills and confidence, there’s a chair for you at Symphony HEB. Since 2025, we’ve rehearsed and performed at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Bedford, where we continue to grow as a musical home for the Mid-Cities community.

Symphony HEB is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization. As a nonprofit, we rely on the generosity of our community, through donations, sponsorships, and volunteer support, to fund our concerts, education, and outreach efforts.
